// Development of a parametric sculpture from big ata analysis of the city of Berlin. //

The project shows various outputs and variations towards our final sculpture, produced for the Xenopolis Event Stadt/Bild, which happened on 4th of November in Deutsche Bank Kunsthalle in Berlin. The work researches in cellular structures and composite construction methodologies derived from various big data analysis of socio-economic key aspects of Berlin’s city life. The sculptures were conceived with the help of Deutsche Bank and their program for young artists. In cooperation with Graft architects and FSB a simplified version of the sculpture, based on similar parameters, was finally realized and exhibited at the forum in Berlin.

Titled STADT / BILD (Image of a City), the project approaches the notion of “The City” as thematic cluster from various perspectives. The institutional structure and work processes of museums will be examined, urban developments will be addressed, as well as social, aesthetic, and cultural aspects relating to “The City”. Moreover, the boundaries between public and private spaces, and urban landscapes will be contemplated, questioning forms of participation and community.

STADT/BILD (Image of a City) is a collaboration of Berlinische Galerie, Deutsche Bank KunstHalle, KW Institute for Contemporary Art, and Nationalgalerie – Staatliche Museen zu Berlin. Initiated and funded by the Berlin Senate, the joint project also marks the kickoff of Berlin Art Week.
